I decided to shake up my fitness routine and dive into something completely new. Here’s how I discovered a love for strength training and the incredible community at TMB.
What Motivated Me to Start?
For years, I stuck to aerobic fitness—spin classes, running, boot camps—but I’d never really tried weights or resistance training. I wanted something that would challenge me physically and give me a sense of mindfulness, a time to focus on just one thing. That’s when I found TMB, and it felt like the perfect fit.
My Goals When I Started
When I first walked through the doors at TMB, I had two main goals: mobility and strength. I wanted to feel more capable in my body and build a foundation that would support me as I got older.
The Results I’ve Achieved
Since starting, I’ve definitely seen strength gains. In the beginning, the progress was incredible, and even now, I continue to push myself—though I’ve had some setbacks with injuries. Despite that, I feel stronger than ever, and the instructors always find ways to adapt the workouts to my needs.
I’ve also noticed a shift in how I view fitness. It’s not just about hitting personal bests anymore; it’s about a more holistic approach to getting stronger and living better.
Challenges I’ve Faced
At first, I had to get used to DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness), which was a bit of a shock! But now, I wear it like a badge of honour—it’s proof that I’m putting in the work and challenging myself.
How My Day-to-Day Life Has Changed
I love being stronger than I was. That strength has carried over into my everyday life, making me feel more capable and confident. It’s amazing how much easier daily tasks become when you feel strong in your own body.
My Advice for Anyone Thinking About Starting
Just f’ing do it. Stop procrastinating. Go and get strong! Seriously, you won’t regret it.
What Makes TMB So Special
TMB has been a huge part of my success. The trainers are incredible—supportive, knowledgeable, and always there to adapt the workouts to suit me. The community is just as amazing. I love catching up with everyone and seeing the progress we’re all making together. And honestly, I can’t leave out Scott’s coffee—it’s the little things like that which make TMB such a joy to be part of.

My goal now is simple: keep getting strong! It’s all about maintaining the progress I’ve made and continuing to push myself.
